So, What’s the Process of disputing a claim? Easy!, just follow these helpful tips for a dispute:
- Make sure you put everything in writing.
- Be sure to dispute each item in a separate letter.
- Include your name, address and Social Security number for verification.
- It’s wise to send all letters certified mail and return receipt requested.
- Be sure to make copies for your files.
- Don’t give up, be persistent and write several demand letters may be necessary.
- Know that credit bureaus are required to show disputed items as “Disputed” on your credit report.
- Provide enough information for the credit bureau to conduct their investigation.
